When I Grow Up, I Want to be an Artist
I had hoped by this point to have new product to show off. Unfortunately, even with a basic template for the art that I want to drop onto this new item, I am failing mightily. I trace and edit and it’s still not working. I think I’m close, but I need a couple more pair of eyes to check it over to figure out what exactly I’m doing wrong. It may actually be nothing, but… I’m too close to it.
When the kids get home from school, I’ll have the boys check it over. Also, Eric is on his way home from work, so maybe he’ll look it over. After confirming the office wasn’t closed for President’s day and also after answering work email [that came in this morning] from home, he drove in. Only to find the office closed. He’s supposed to get a phone notification when the office is closed, but no call came. He’s cranky 🙁
We may head out for lunch, but at the same time get some work done on this new product.
I’m crossing my fingers.

UPDATE: I just talked to a friend who owns a design company out of Pittsburgh and he’s willing to help out with the dog ‘problems’. I know good people and I’m happy for the support we give each other.

The best part about doing a project is doing a project! You know, it’s the journey and not the destination and all of that. So just think of those hang ups as part of the process to enjoy! 🙂
Easier said than done, I’m sure!

You have a wonderful panel of experts in your family! Maybe you just need to jolt of their honest opinions and feedback. (P.S. But a cherry on top of something for Eric to cheer him up! 🙂

are you having problems with the freezer paper stencils? is that the template you’re referring to? its a little tricky, but fun + easy once you get the hang of it.

Aimee, the problem I’m having is that I can’t draw to make the stencil 😉 It’s not a problem with the process. Although that may happen once the stencil is done. 🙂

hehe… i understand. tracing is your friend when it comes to the stencils! also, a sharp xacto knife for cutting. the simpler the better, but my bird stencils turned out great ( http://www.flickr.com/photos/motionary/4086731675/ ). i found the hearts to be more difficult because of controlling the curves.

My goal is to get an actual stencil of the final design and then trace them onto freezer paper as I need them. Almost double work, I think, but worth it in the end 🙂
