It makes me sad to hear people trash you all. On Wife Swap there have been other goth families that were unfortunately trashed by that horrible show (i.e the Zemankes and the Agguires come to mind). Each time the show tried to make it look like goth parents force their lifestyle on their children. Utter bullocks! Anyways, keep your head up! I love DnD! My husband got me hooked on it a few years back. Its like reading a story but you decide what happens! We also play a few mmo's: Everquest, Everquest 2 and Guild wars. I feel you about being a DM. There is a lot of pressure about making a good story, keeping things interesting, balancing player needs, ect.
