Hey, been following your website for a long time. I operate a related blog site although I always keep receiving a great deal of spam remarks, how can you keep your blog site so clean?

Domestic Goddess, I don't hate. Look, I even approved your comment ;) Really, though, I understand your point about the photographs. The one chosen for the other blog, I'm sure, was chosen because of the cemetery background. The one used here in this blog was taken in the little park at the center of town. As for the doll, I used what I had. It's the best looking doll, IMO, in the house and since I don't have a baby... well, the doll had to do.

I am not goth, but rather a little multiple personality disorder when it comes to clothes. I have my studded items and my preppy plaid and it all depends on my mood. I feel like I need to include that disclaimer before people read my comment and shun/dismiss me because I am not a true goth chick. That being said, I think the gown is adoreable. Loved it, actually. But, to be honest... the photos on the doll in the cemetary are a wee bit creepy. It's not the clothes, its the setting mixed with the dead looking doll. From a merchandising standpoint, the design would be taken more seriously in a less "Halloween" cheesy photo shoot. Now, let the hating of my opinio begin!!!

Black, white--who cares? For his recent baptism, my littlest guy wore a combination of both colors. No one even noticed. Of course, this might have had something to do with their concerns that he was going to accidentally burn down the church. (Hint to clergy everywhere: three-year-old + oil + burning candle = potential for disaster. Avoid.)

We all dress our child in our own version of what we think is cute/cool and reflects more of the parents personality until the child wants to give it a go on their own. I consider my style to be laid back, earthy with a little funk. My 8 year old experiments with her "look" often. She's done "Tokyo Street style" "bag lady chic" and "panda wear." Now, I don't know what any of these mean, but she thinks their cool. Your gown is gorgeous and goth. Love it.

I love the dress...and I did read the comments on the MomLogic site. I too feel that we need to step outside of the box er, commercialism. Although, I LOVED the comments that others left for her. They keep adding up 1 for MomLogic, 12 for BatsMeow :) Go Sheila!

Haha :) Okay. I will admit to being creeped out by dolls in general, but I don't find this doll any creepier than the rest. I made the dress as a special order for a customer in the UK and I didn't have a baby to put it on for photos, so I grabbed Ravynn's little 'Edgar' for the shoot. I don't believe it was used for an actual christening, but only for family photos.

I think the dress is beautiful. Would I dress my child in it (assuming I had a child)? Nope, but that is because I don't dress in the goth clothing myself. It just isn't my style.
Would I look down on someone who brought their child to church in this to have them christened? Not at all, I would think it was kinda cool.
That being said... I have to be honest and admit that the baby doll wearing it? It is kinda creepy lol

Belynda, I think the difference is that I like pink as an accent. My girls do too. It feels overwhelming to me as a main color and I'm sure that's how a lot of people feel about black. It's all about perspective. And you are certainly not a dull pair of jeans and a sweatshirt :)

JB, Thank you so much. We've had criticisms before and I try to hold my head high through all of them. At the same time I worry that I'm pulling reaction from one forward to the other and trust my friends to keep an eye on me. Thank you, also, for your two cents.
